Somatic Therapy Reaches Places Talk Therapy Can’t

Peace comes when you learn you’re no longer in danger.

Somatic Experiencing™ is the Gold Standard for Addressing Trauma, Anxiety, and Chronic Stress,

Learn How It Works

You’re Always Tense and Wired

You can handle a lot.

You’ve learned to operate in demanding environments where staying alert, responsive, and productive is required.

You push through. You take responsibility. You perform.

For a long time, that worked. But over time, your body began carrying the cost:

Sleep is light and unrefreshing.

Stress lingers long after situations pass.

Your body stays braced, waiting for what comes next.

Your nervous system acts like danger is still present, even when it’s not.

Why Understanding Your Patterns Doesn’t Help

You know your history. You may have even explored it in therapy. You know what triggers you and why certain situations feel activating.

Yet your body still reacts as if it needs to stay on guard.

This isn’t weakness or lack of insight. It is how a nervous system adapts to pressure.

Don’t let that adaptation become a constant state.

Somatic Therapy Achieves That in Three Steps

Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based therapy grounded in neuroscience and nervous system regulation. Sessions move at a pace that supports safety and lasting change.

Increase Nervous System Awareness

1

You learn to track physical sensations, breathing patterns, and subtle internal shifts so your system can recognize stress earlier.

Awareness creates choice.

Build Regulation and Recovery Capacity

2

Through gentle, guided exercises, your nervous system practices settling, releasing tension, and returning to balance without overwhelm.

Regulation replaces constant readiness.

Restore Flexibility and Resilience

3

As recovery pathways strengthen, your system responds to stress with more ease, adaptability, and efficiency.

Resilience replaces exhaustion.

Somatic Therapy RESETS Your Nervous System

High-functioning nervous systems learn to override signals for rest, stress, and emotional overload early on. Ignoring fatigue, tension, or overwhelm becomes second nature. Recovery pathways are underused, and the system loses access to slowing down and repairing.

Somatic therapy – also called Somatic Experiencing® – focuses on restoring your nervous system’s ability to notice, regulate, and recover before stress becomes overwhelming.

  • Reconnect with early physical cues of stress and fatigue.
  • Reduce chronic tension and internal pressure.
  • Increase capacity for calm, rest, and recovery.
  • Respond to stress with flexibility instead of reactivity.
  • Feel safer and more settled in their bodies.

This work isn’t about doing less…

It’s about helping your nervous system learn that it no longer has to stay on high alert.

Hi, I’m Megan

I started my career in research – two years at Johns Hopkins and nearly a decade at the NIH. That background grounds me in science and neuroscience. But healing isn’t just data. It’s human. It’s personal.

People often carry trauma that words can’t capture. The body remembers – even the pain of generations before us. That’s why I use brain-based, bottom-up tools that calm the nervous system where talk therapy alone can’t reach.

I’m a parent, a professional, and a citizen of the world. I know what exactly what it feels like to be “too much” in one space and “not enough” in another. In my therapy room, you don’t have to explain or shrink yourself. You get to be fully you. My role is to hold a safe space for all of it – so you can finally put the weight down and begin to heal.

Client Success Stories

Maria had been in therapy since childhood but never felt able to stay with difficult emotions long enough for real change. Through somatic work, EMDR, and the Safe and Sound Protocol, she learned to tolerate emotion instead of avoiding it. As her resilience grew, conflicts resolved faster, work felt manageable, and insights finally emerged.

Elaine felt overwhelmed by political events that disrupted her career and sense of control. Somatic experiencing helped her reconnect with safety in the present moment, offering relief from constant stress. With that grounding, she could slow down, rest, and recover between challenges.

Mike was grieving the loss of his parents while selling his lifelong home. Somatic therapy didn’t erase his grief but helped him stay grounded and connected while navigating an intensely emotional transition. These tools kept him from becoming overwhelmed or shutting down.

Lily, a high-achieving teen, often shut down under academic pressure and emotional overwhelm. Family-supported somatic work helped her come back “online” during those moments so she could communicate and cope. Her parents saw real changes as she regained flexibility and engagement.
